How are the products chosen?
We sampled literally hundreds of products and polled our founding members to chose the absolute highest-quality and best priced natural and organic staples. We’ve especially tried to focus on organic, fair trade, non-GMO and locally made or grown products. We’ve kept the initial line fairly simple so that we can draw upon member preferences to build a more expansive product line.
How does the discount work?
The concept is simple; the Community Grocer uses the power of Community and collective purchasing power to get the greatest discounts from the source, passing those on to you, our members.

What does my membership include?
Your annual membership includes login access for up to two adults living at the same address to our web site. Here, you can select products for purchase from our members-only online store and chose from either delivery (for a guaranteed flat rate of $10) or our complimentary click and collect service. Your membership also gets you invited to our members-only tasting parties where we sample and score new products to expand our product line.
What happens when my annual membership is up?
One month before your annual membership is up for renewal, we will email you to let you know and send you instructions for re-enrolling.
How does delivery work?
When you place your order on-line, simply choose 'Delivery' at checkout and you will be prompted to choose 1 of 4 three-hour time periods during the day, 2 days after your order is placed. So if you place your order at noon on Monday, you can choose to have it delivered as soon as Wednesday morning. The driver will phone you approximately 30 minutes before arriving. You also have the option to postpone delivery. There will be a $10 flat fee for delivery within Metro Vancouver.
How does Click and Collect work?
When you place your order on-line, simply choose 'Click and Collect' at checkout and you will be prompted to choose 1 of 4 three-hour time periods during the day, 2 days after your order is placed, to pick up your order at our location. So if you place your order at noon on Monday, you can choose to pick it up as soon as Wednesday morning. Please phone us once you are parked out front and we will bring you your groceries. This service is complimentary with membership.
What if I’m outside the delivery zone?
If you are outside the delivery zone, you can choose to pick up your order using our click and collect service (available at checkout), or you are welcome to arrange for your groceries to be delivered to a local address within the delivery zone, such as your work place or a friend’s home.
Please note: if no one is home to accept the scheduled delivery, your groceries will be returned to us for you to either pick up or have delivered for an additional $10 at a later date. Your initial $10 delivery fee will not be refunded.
